"Prayer is the strongest weapon you will ever have." -Patricia "Nancy" SaundersThis memorial website was created to remember our dearest Patricia Nancy Saunders who was born in Pennsylvania on January 1, 1931 and passed away on March 5, 2008. She went by "Nancy" her whole life.
She was the mother of two children. Trish Vanaman, and Wes Vanaman. And one grandchild Katie Vanaman whom she raised since birth. She was very patient with her children whom came first before everyone. She was always willing to sacrifice herself for her kids. "I never felt more love then when I was in her arms. She was so kind and patient."-Katie Vanaman. Everyone says their mother is the best, but our mother was a true angel. Always giving her kids every ounce of love she had within her. Often putting up with spontaneous, and immature behavior with a look of disapproval followed by an outburst of laughs. "Nobody is a perfect mother, but mom was darn close!"-Trish Vanaman. "Mom was an angel, our angel."-Trish and Katie Vanaman.
She was a wonderful wife to her husband W. Greir Saunders whom she loved dearly. She was always there for him, and supported his love for bird watching.
She was most known for her elegance, politeness, and smile. She had the youngest voice and was often mistaken for one of her kids when answering the phone. She always worried about others and never herself. It was always about the other person and how they were. She had a way of making you feel very warm inside. She loved animals dearly and was a proud supporter of the ASPCA. It was not uncommon for her to pull over on the side of the road to rescue a lost animal.
She was a beautiful lady with lovely blonde hair and a tall slim figure. Her favorite color was pink and her favorite movies included The Shirley Temple series, National Velvet, Black Beauty, and Michael Crawford (his movie). In her younger years she road, trained, and showed horses. "I was always on a horse." she often said. Which again displays her strong love for animals. She loved to go shopping and out to lunch with her friends and family. Her favorite resteraunts included The Kimberton Inn, Baxters, Vickers, and Dueling Kurtz. She was very proud of her Irish heritage in which she was half Irish. She always reminded her children of their Irish heritage as well. She was a devoted Catholic and went to church every Sunday. She often reminded her children throughout the day to pray and to trust Jesus. "Prayer is the strongest weapon you will ever have." She often said.
"Mom" will be terriably missed by her children and friends. She had a lot of people that loved her. She was a beautiful lady. Inside and out, from begining to end. "I am strong as an oxe!" She often said, and she was right, inside and out she was. We all know, however, that she is an angel in heaven. Protecting and watching us every minute....of everyday.
"Always say your angel prayer.."-Mom
